The Big Easy

How could I forget New Orleans?
Last spring we had an incredible time in the Big Easy.  We ate like kings and queens at Two Sisters (shown above)  What a treat.  And of course we had to try beniets, those sugary delicious doughnut like treats.  We even went on a paddle boat on the Mighty Mississippi.

And shopped until we dropped. We also had the pleasure of seeing the LA Clippers play the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans). The weather was superb and it wasn't too crowded since we went WAY after Mardi Gras. Fun trip, but the plane trip was the flight from HELL.  Never go through San Francisco Airport if you have ANY alternative routes.

ABQ Again

Hello,

It's been awhile, so I thought I'd tell about our latest adventure.  Back to ABQ for the Balloon Fiesta.
We took a chance and drove cross-country from Cali to New Mexico with our autistic, 20-year-old son.  He did great. He saw all the little things along the way that we usually ignore: trains, snow on the mountain, fireworks stands, trading posts, etc.  It was a real joy seeing the world through his unique eyes.  Now I know how Dad and Mom felt driving cross-country with 4 kids in tow!  Some good, some bad, but mostly fantastic!
We even got to see Albuquerque's great zoo/aquarium/biopark/train.  Clayton was in seventh heaven, as you can see in the picture above. The memories we shared on this trip will last a life-time.

Remember the Alamo

Here I am in front of the Alamo in San Antonio Texas.  We went between Christmas and New Years. The Hyatt was awesome and right on the River Walk.  We ate good, did a little shopping, and met my sister and her family for a bit of a reunion.  They were there for the Alamo Bowl which was featuring Oregon State and Texas U.  Close game that Oregon eventually lost in the last few minutes. It was a bit cold for us, but no rain appeared until the last day.  Kirk sprained his ankle and spent the last 2 days in bed (watching football).

Norwegian Dawn

Sister trip to Canada and New England.  It was quite an adventure.  Took 25 hours to get to the ship, but once we got on, we had a grand time.  See my WordPress Blog for more details.

San Jose

Do you know the way to San Jose? It's about a 6 hour drive north from our abode. We went for Cybersafety training and met with Tony and Venna (our cousins)  Here we are inside the beautiful California Theatre.

New Addition to the Family

Here is a picture of our two "kids" Tiger Lily and Calli. They are getting along famously with only a few snarls and scratches. Aren't they adorable!

Grand Canyon

Well, we finally made it to the Grand Canyon. It was VERY GRAND! We stopped in Laughlin on the way over and met with Grandma and Ray. Then we drove to our Bright Angel cabin and loved it. Did lots of hiking and eating, then twisted my foot jumping off the bus. All-in-all, we had a great time.
